October 13, 2016 KAZGUU University, with the support of Pricewaterhouse Coopers Kazakhstan, held a semi-nar on the implementation of the Agile methodology in the management of diploma projects for educational program coordinators, research supervisors and other members of the Scrum teams being created.
In the main part of the seminar, Miras Daulenov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board — Director of the Academy of Fundamental and Applied Sciences named after S. Zimanov, explained the need to implement the Agile methodology in the management of diploma projects at KAZGUU University. They also explained the main solutions required for applying to the quality of the portfolio of diploma projects, the preparation of the project terms of reference, the correct determination of project quality indicators, the creation of Scrum teams and the organization of Scrum discussions.
In turn, the director of the Higher School of Law, Sergey Pen, revealed the methodology for preparing research cases aimed at developing students’ analytical and critical thinking skills. At the same time, Sergey Genna-dyevich noted the need for students to acquire such skills as a condition for forming a graduate model of KA-ZGUU University.
In the final part of the seminar, the teachers were able to ask questions and use their own examples to demonstra-te the need for teamwork in the process of preparing graduation projects.
